How to cancel an order after it is placed by a customer from my side but not yet shipped?

You may want to cancel an order for various reasons.

You can cancel the order by going to ‘Product catalog – Orders – click the {Order}’, you can see ‘Cancel’ option.

After, you click on ‘cancel’, you will get another pop-up window which will ask you to cite the reasons, has a comment section for your reference. You can cancel partial items in the order too. With this, the order remains cancelled.
